The Plei App wasn’t letting up in early 2024. In late February, we expanded to yet another new market to bring our state count up to 14: Boston, Massachusetts! 🦞 Beantown became our fourth new region of the year in just under two months time. The next facility we partnered with in the city is Teamworks Acton! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬

A hattrick of sorts, but we’re not getting subbed off just yet. 👀
Most Teamworks facilities have been open to the public for quite some time, and the Acton venue is no different. They boast over two decades of experience to their name, having opened in January 1996. 🗓️
What also makes this particular partnership special is the fact that the Acton facility was the first ever Teamworks location, and since then they have gone on to now run a total of eight (8) branches across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. 8️⃣
Being the OG Teamworks, you might expect them to offer plenty of amenities, and you’d be completely right in making that assumption. 😁
Although newer locations have since surpassed Acton in terms of overall square footage, 63,000 is still quite a respectable size for a modern sports facility. Taking up the majority of the room here are the numerous turf fields that are primarily the stomping grounds for enthusiasts of the beautiful game. ⚽
Four (4) boarded artificial turf pitches are what you’ll find indoors at Teamworks Acton. Turf 1 and Turf 2 come out to be about the same size, with each being suitable for 7v7 pickup games. Turf 3 is slightly smaller, meanwhile, and can accommodate 6v6 or 5v5. 🥅
Turf 4 is even smaller, making it less ideal for actual pickup games also due to the lack of lines and in-wall goal nets. As a result, it tends to be used more for practices and other non-match activities. 👍
Did we mention that Teamworks Acton isn’t just an indoor facility? 😅
That’s right: there’s even more to enjoy in the great outdoors. Air-conditioned footy is great, but if you ever get tired of it, a large outdoor turf is perfect for 6v6 pickup. This one stands out not only because of the fact that it’s outside, but also because, unlike the four other fields, this one is non-boarded and has out of bounds. ⚽

Located in an elevated mezzanine area next to Turf 4 is Overtime Bar & Grill, the perfect place for players to unwind after games and socialize with one another. In addition to the great variety of beer, wine, and food options that are served, the bar also overlooks all of the fields and offers a number of flat screen TVs in case you want to catch some live matches. 📺
Elsewhere in the facility is a party room that doubles as a meeting room but also triples as an arcade area. Overlooking Turf 1, this space is fully furnished with tables, chairs, counter space and flat screens and is the ideal private setting for all kinds of occasions. 🥳
Last but certainly not least: Teamworks Acton also doesn’t neglect the importance of sports fitness and staying healthy. They demonstrate this by providing a full-fledged performance center/gym, as well as sports rehab & physical therapy. 💪
