Where it all began! Miami is where the Plei App calls home. Since partnering with our first facility, we have now expanded to over 20 facilities across Miami-Dade County. 😎 Since June 2023, we have been hosting pickup games at Soctainer, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Soctainer, the newest facility on the block, is just what Miami was missing: dedicated soccer fields in Little Havana that are easily accessible to anyone in and around the area. Featuring two (2) fields for 5v5 or 6v6 play behind a set of storage containers (hence the combination of the words soccer and container in the name 😉), you can enjoy casual or intense matches under the beaming Miami sun, all while taking in a bit of Cuban lifestyle. 🇨🇺
After over a year of delays due to situations out of their control, Soctainer finally opened to the public in late June 2023. Take a look at these photos and you’ll realize that it was worth it after all. 📸
Your eyes aren’t deceiving you. Soctainer is officially also known as the Pulisic Stomping Grounds, sponsored by Puma. The partnership between the venue and Christian Pulisic/Puma came to fruition after months of new renovations which added many new features that truly bring it to life. ✨
Upon arriving, one of the first things you’ll see is a stunning mural dedicated to the USMNT captain, which features multiple animated versions of CP10, soccer imagery, mean-looking pumas and “Pulisic Stomping Grounds Miami” plastered on at the top. An eye-popping red with black, grey and white shades create a truly appealing contrast that will probably have you wanting to stop and take pictures before you go inside. 🎨
This theme of red, black and white continues throughout the facility. The tables and chairs conveniently located outside the field fences make for a great way to watch the ongoing action while snacking or sipping on a beverage from the concession stand. Each table is also equipped with a patio umbrella, which is a necessity in South Florida. ☔
Bleachers are available fieldside, if you want the closest view possible, or if you’re a player waiting for your turn to step onto the pitch. 👀
If your two passions are footy and coffee, you’re in luck! Coming soon to Soctainer is a on-site Macondo Coffee Roasters, which will be running entirely out of a storage container. In the meantime, check out how beautiful it looks on the outside. ☕
We know how frustrating it can be trying to secure parking in Miami, especially in busy locations. Despite Calle Ocho typically fitting that description, parallel street parking spots via PayByPhone are available on both SW 20th Ave and 8th Street, directly in front of Soctainer. 🚗
Being such an attractive facility inside and out, Soctainer makes a great location for various events and programming. That being said, you’ll find leagues and tournaments happening throughout the year as they continue to settle themselves in. In the meantime, feel free to rent out their fields; you can even host birthday parties and other special gatherings here! 🥳
