In April 2023, the Plei App officially expanded into our 15th region, New York City! 🍏 After months and months of hard work and effort from all of us at Plei, one of our dream destinations for the app finally came true. The next facility that we have partnered with in the Big Apple is La Espiguita Soccer Academy.

Welcome to La Espiguita Soccer Academy, an indoor sports facility in Brentwood that offers the best of both worlds of music and the beautiful game. 🎶🤝⚽
You’ll know you’ve arrived once you see the Colombian flag painted on the face of the building. Head towards the entrance and you’ll find yet another Colombian flag on the left side of the doors, and the word “salsa” plastered right above. 🇨🇴
Like we mentioned, La Espiguita is all about futsal. With their large indoor court space for 5-a-side, you can experience this alternative to standard footy like never before. The surrounding walls of the court boast a beautiful mural depicting a soccer stadium, providing a exquisite backdrop for those exhilarating matches. 🖼️
Their name might imply otherwise, but they didn’t neglect other sports. Equipped with hoops, the court space can naturally also host basketball games, and volleyball is extremely common as well. 🏀🏐
In the blink of an eye, the facility can transform their court to accommodate either sport… or become Long Island’s prime destination for salsa music. 🕺
If that’s your kind of vibe, feel free to stay a while after your pickup game. Grab a drink and relax at their full-fledged bar & lounge area known as La Espiguita Hall. 🥂
Located on the second floor, this space is fully equipped with dimmed neon lighting, multiple TVs & projectors, and eye-catching furniture & decorations to create a cozy, authentic Latin experience. 🤗
La Espiguita Hall also sells a selection of food options, so take advantage of that, too. 😋
