Where it all began! Miami is where the Plei App calls home. Since partnering with our first facility, we have now expanded to over 20 facilities across Miami-Dade County. 😎 Since February 2019, we have been hosting pickup games at Cathedral Soccer, and we are looking forward to continuing doing so for many more years to come. As part of our new blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Cathedral offers a large turf area featuring a total of three (3) fields for 6v6 and 5v5 play, which can be combined so that larger games of 7v7, 8v8 and 9v9 can be played. Bright stadium-quality lights make this a great place to play at night, so don’t shy away from pulling up when the sun goes down. 🌆
If you’re a local, you know that Miami fútbol can be really diverse. So many people and so many different facilities to play at, which may seem like a blessing, but it can actually end up becoming a hassle when it comes down to deciding where to actually play at (which is why we created the Plei App! 😅).
Thankfully, there’s certain places that make the experience easy and enjoyable without taking away what it means to be a Miami baller. With their convenient location in the Wynwood area north of Downtown Miami, you can be confident in your decision to play at Cathedral. 🤙
If you pull up to play here, you’ll obviously have exquisite views of the downtown skyline. That’s a no brainer. But what you’ll also notice when playing is the ambiance of Miami traffic. For some, that may be a turnoff, but for others, it does nothing else besides add to the big city experience. If you’ve been living in South Florida, you probably know what’s up. 💫
Palm trees on the roadside of the facility complete the experience. After all, there’s nothing quite like playing the beautiful game in a tropical setting. 🌴
As Cathedral Soccer is located in an urban setting, you can park your car either on the road in any of the available parallel parking spots, or on the designated spots on NE 28th Street. 🚗
Leagues for both adults and kids happen year-round at this venue, and you can even rent out their spaces to host birthday parties, corporate events and other special gatherings. 🥳
If you’re pulling up just to spectate, you can chill in their relaxation area while enjoying some snacks and drinks from their concession stand. There are bleachers available that face the fields, so why not have a seat and enjoy the Miami pickup soccer action? 👀
