In November 2022, the Plei App officially expanded into our 13th market, Atlanta, Georgia! 🍑 Another one of the pickup facilities that we have partnered with in the region is BASE Athletics; we’ve been hosting games here since March 2024! As part of our ongoing blog series, we will be highlighting all of our partner facilities in every region where Plei has touched down. 🛬
Make your way to a neighborhood known as Blandtown in the West Midtown area of Atlanta. If you follow your GPS correctly, you should come across an unassuming warehouse that houses a singular artificial turf soccer field. 🏠

If you’re not familiar with futsal, let us explain. 🔽
5-a-side soccer, also known as futsal, is a popular variation of the beautiful game, which is played with five players on each team: four outfield players and one goalkeeper. 5️⃣
It is almost always played on a much smaller court, usually no bigger than 5,000 square feet, as well as with a smaller ball, typically Size 4. Futsal puts an emphasis on close-quarters skill, quick passes and close ball control due to the limited space, naturally making it an excellent way to develop individual abilities and teamwork. 👌
In simpler terms, look forward to fast-paced and high-scoring games, with no strings attached. ⚡
BASE Athletics provides athletes of all ages and skill levels with a cutting-edge environment to both improve and show off their abilities. As a result, the facility hosts a number of in-house programs to advance their mission of becoming the leader of 5-a-side pickup soccer in Atlanta. 🍑
Their programming includes adult leagues, youth academy, group workouts/training and field rentals. 🗓️
Oh, and pickup games 7 days a week… naturally. 😉
